Beauty Quotes to make you chuckle- (scroll down for more BEAUTY QUOTES)

--A blonde walks into the hairdressers. She is wearing earphones. She tells the hardresser to cut around the earphones. The hairdresser is curious as to why she can't just take them out, but asks no questions. The next time, and the time after that, and the time after that, the blonde makes the same request. The hairdresser couldnt contain his curiosity any longer, so he pulled out the earphones. The blonde drops dead. He put the earphone up to his ears. The hairdresser hears 'Inhale, Exhale' ~~ Emma G

--Beauty isn't worth thinking about; what's important is your mind. You don't want a fifty-dollar haircut on a fifty-cent head. ~Garrison Keillor

--Beauty is indeed a good gift of God; but that the good may not think it a great good, God dispenses it even to the wicked. ~Saint Augustine

---I'm tired of all this nonsense about beauty being only skin-deep. That's deep enough. What do you want - an adorable pancreas? ~Jean Kerr, The Snake Has All the Lines

---I hope you have lost your good looks, for while they last any fool can adore you, and the adoration of fools is bad for the soul. No, give me a ruined complexion and a lost figure and sixteen chins on a farmyard of Crow's feet and an obvious wig. Then you shall see me coming out strong. ~George Bernard Shaw, to Mrs. Patrick Campbell

---Beauty is all very well at first sight; but who ever looks at it when it has been in the house three days?   ~~~  George Bernard Shaw

HOLISTIC WISDOM  of Rumi-

  Whoever is loved is beautiful, but the opposite is not true, that whoever is beautiful is loved.  Real beauty is part of loved-ness, and that loved-ness is primary.  If a being is loved, he or she has beauty, because a part cannot be separate from the whole.  Many girls were more beautiful than Laila, but Majnun did not love them.  "Let us bring some of these to meet you," they used to say to Majnun, and he would reply, "It's not the form of Laila that I love.   Laila is not the form.  You're looking at the cup, whereas I think only of the wine I drink from that cup.  If you gave me a chalice studded with gemstones, but filled with vinegar or something other than wine, what use would that be? An old broken dipper-gourd with Laila-wine in it is better than a hundred precious goblets full of other liquid."

  Passion is present when a man can distinguish between the wine and the container.  Two men see a loaf of bread. One hasn't eaten anything for ten days. The other has eaten five times a day, every day.  He sees the shape of the loaf.  The other man with his urgent need sees inside into the taste, and into the nourishment the bread could give.  Be that hungry, to see within all beings the Friend.

  Creatures are cups.  The sciences and the arts and all branches of knowledge are inscriptions around the outside of the cups.  When a cup shatters, the writing can no longer be read.  The wine's the thing! The wine that's held in the mold of these physical cups. Drink the wine and know what lasts and what to love.  The man who truly asks must be sure of two things: One, that he's mistaken in what he's doing or thinking now.  And two, that there is a wisdom he doesn't know yet.  Asking is half of knowing.

  Everyone turns toward someone.  Look for one scarred by the King's polo stick.

  A man or a woman is said to be absorbed when the water has total control of him, and he no control of the water.  A swimmer moves around willfully.  An absorbed being has no will but the water's going.  Any word or act is not really personal, but the way the water has of speaking or doing.  As when you hear a voice coming out of a wall, and you know that it's not the wall talking, but someone inside, or perhaps someone outside echoing off the wall.  Saints are like that.  They've achieved the condition of a wall, or a door.

Discover 'Inner Beauty' by listening to THE VOICE WITHIN-

The following excerpt is from Louise Hay's wonderful, "very up" book:

Life, Reflection on Your Journey

CHAPTER SIX

Body...Mind...SPIRIT
[
How to connect with the Inner Voice.]

"I am progressing on my path
at the pace that is just right for me."

Trust Your Inner Wisdom

Deep at the center of our being there is an infinite well of love, an infinite well of joy, an infinite well of peace, and an infinite well of wisdom. This is true for each and every one of us. Yet how often do we get in touch with these treasures within us? Do we do it once a day? Once in a while? Or are we totally unaware that we have these inner treasures? Just for a moment, close your eyes and connect with that part of yourself.

It only takes a breath to go to your center. Go to that infinite well of love within you. Feel the love. Let it grow and expand. Go to that infinite well of joy within you. Feel the joy. Let it grow and expand. Now go to that infinite well of peace within you. Feel that peace. Let it grow and expand. Now go to that infinite well of wisdom within you, that part of you that is totally connected to all the wisdom in the universe—past, present, and future.

Trust that wisdom. Let it grow and expand. As you take another breath and come back to your space, keep the knowledge, keep the feeling. Many times today and many, many times tomorrow and each and every day of your life, remind yourself of the treasures that are always within you—and just a breath away.

These treasures are a part of your spiritual connection and are vital to your well-being. Body, mind, and spirit—we need to be balanced on all three levels. A healthy body, a happy mind, and a good, strong spiritual connection are all necessary for our overall balance and harmony.

One of the major benefits of a strong spiritual connection is that we can live wonderful, creative, fulfilling lives. And we will automatically release so many burdens that most people carry. We will no longer need to be fearful or carry shame and guilt.

As we feel our oneness with all of life, we will drop anger and hatred, prejudice, and the need to be judgmental. As we become one with the healing power of the Universe, we will no longer need illness. And, I believe we will be able to reverse the aging process. Burdens are what age us; they drag down our spirits.

We Can Change the World

If each one of us reading this book would practice getting in touch with the treasures within us on a daily basis, we could literally change the world. People living the truth change the world. For the truth of our being is that we are filled with unconditional love. We are filled with incredible joy. We are filled with serene peace. We are connected to infinite wisdom.

What we need to do is to know it and live it! Today we are mentally preparing for tomorrow. The thoughts we think, the words we speak, the beliefs we accept, shape our tomorrows. Every morning, stand in front of a mirror and affirm to yourself:

"I AM FILLED WITH UNCONDITIONAL LOVE, AND I EXPRESS IT TODAY. I AM FILLED WITH JOY, AND I EXPRESS IT TODAY. I AM FILLED WITH PEACE, AND I SHARE IT TODAY. I AM FILLED WITH INFINITE WISDOM, AND I PRACTICE IT TODAY. AND THIS IS THE TRUTH ABOUT ME."

Now that is a powerful way to start your day! You can do it.

Taking joy in living is a woman's best cosmetic. ~Rosalind Russell

Keep your faith in all beautiful things; in the sun when it is hidden, in the Spring when it is gone.
  ~~~   Roy R. Gilson
A man should hear a little music, read a little poetry, and see a fine picture every day of his life, in order that worldly cares may not obliterate the sense of the beautiful which God has implanted in the human soul.  ~~  Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
Most of us have had moments in childhood when we touched the divine presence. We did not think it extraordinary because it wasn't; it was just a beautiful moment filled with love. In those simple moments our hearts were alive, and we saw the poignant beauty of life vividly with wonder and appreciation.  ~~~  David McArthur and Bruce McArthur, The Intelligent Heart
Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate:
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May, And summer's lease hath all too short a date.  ~~~William Shakespeare
Beauty is all very well at first sight; but who ever looks at it when it has been in the house three days?   ~~~  George Bernard Shaw
"The most beautiful thing that we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed."
~ Albert Einstein
"Beauty of whatever kind, in it's supreme development, invariably excites the sensitive soul to tears." ~ Edgar Allan Poe
"Love thyself completely...thus beauty will permeate and illuminate your entire outward self."
~ Tina Rizzitello
What is TRUE BEAUTY? Inner beauty…..
It is that glow that you see in someone’s aura.
That feeling of unconditional love and acceptance.
That beauty, permeates their entire outward self.
That beaming smile that expresses their confidence in
Themselves, and also their love for the entire universe
You know quite well they have their story, but that they were
Able to transform it into that word ---- LOVE.
They were able to take their own life’s adversities, and use them
As wonderful opportunities, to create the life that they truly desired.
They were aware that the thoughts that they focused on, could
Always be that ultimate Reality.
And through those life’s experiences, were able to manifest that lasting
…..INNER BEAUTY!
HOLISTIC WISDOM- A beautiful discription by Osho (please click-)What is the connection between inner and outer beauty?
Albert Einstein:
A human being is a part of the whole called by us universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feeling as something separated from the rest, a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.
Anais Nin:
The possession of knowledge does not kill the sense of wonder and mystery. There is always more mystery.
Buckminster Fuller:
When I am working on a problem I never think about beauty. I only think about how to solve the problem. But when I have finished, if the solution is not beautiful, I know it is wrong.
Candace Bergen:
People see you as an object, not as a person, and they project a set of expectations onto you. People who don't have it think beauty is a blessing, but actually it sets you apart.
Chinese proverb:
When you have only two pennies left in the world, buy a loaf of bread with one, and a lily with the other.
Frederick Turner:
To those who followed Columbus and Cortez, the New World truly seemed incredible because of the natural endowments. The land often announced itself with a heavy scent miles out into the ocean. Giovanni di Verrazano in 1524 smelled the cedars of the East Coast a hundred leagues out. The men of Henry Hudson's Half Moon were temporarily disarmed by the fragrance of the New Jersey shore, while ships running farther up the coast occasionally swam through large beds of floating flowers. Wherever they came inland they found a rich riot of color and sound, of game and luxuriant vegetation. Had they been other than they were, they might have written a new mythology here. As it was, they took inventory.
Georgia O'Keeffe:
I said to myself -- I'll paint what I see -- what the flower is to me but I'll paint it big and they will be surprised into taking time to look at it -- I will make even busy New Yorkers take time to see what I see of flowers.
Helen Keller:
The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen, nor touched ... but are felt in the heart.
Henry Miller:
The moment one gives close attention to anything, even a blade of grass, it becomes a mysterious, awesome, indescribably magnificent world in itself.
Jean Kerr:
I'm tired of all this nonsense about beauty being only skin-deep. That's deep enough. What do you want, an adorable pancreas?
John Keats:
A thing of beauty is a joy forever.
John Ruskin:
Remember that the most beautiful things in the world are the most useless; peacocks and lilies, for example.
Kahlil Gibran:
Beauty is eternity gazing at itself in a mirror.
Kalidasa:
Listen to the Exhortation of the Dawn!
Look to this Day!
For it is Life, the very Life of Life.
In its brief course lie all the
Verities and Realities of your Existence.
The Bliss of Growth,
The Glory of Action,
The Splendor of Beauty;
For Yesterday is but a Dream,
And To-morrow is only a Vision;
But To-day well lived makes
Every Yesterday a Dream of Happiness,
And every Tomorrow a Vision of Hope.
Look well therefore to this Day!
Such is the Salutation of the Dawn!
Kenneth Patton:
The day I see a leaf is a marvel of a day.
Oscar Hammerstein, II:
Do you love me because I'm beautiful,
or am I am beautiful because you love me?
Pierre Auguste Renoir:
The pain passes, but the beauty remains.
Rachel Carson:
Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth find reserves of strength that will endure as long as life lasts.
Rachel Carson:
It is a wholesome and necessary thing for us to turn again to the earth and in the contemplation of her beauties to know of wonder and humility.
Ralph Waldo Emerson:
What is a weed? A plant whose virtues have not yet been discovered.
Ralph Waldo Emerson:
The moral sense reappears today with the same morning newness that has been from of old the fountain of beauty and strength. You say there is no religion now. 'Tis like saying in rainy weather, There is no sun, when at that moment we are witnessing one of its superlative effects.
Robert Louis Stevenson:
It is a golden maxim to cultivate the garden for the nose, and the eyes will take care of themselves.
Rudyard Kipling:
Our England is a garden, and such gardens are not made
By singing: -- "Oh, how beautiful!" and sitting in the shade.
Sir Walter Scott:
Nothing is more the child of art than a garden.
Sophia Loren:
Sex appeal is fifty percent what you've got and fifty percent what people think you've got.
Virginia Woolf:
The beauty of the world has two edges, one of laughter, one of anguish, cutting the heart asunder.
WHAT IS TRUE BEAUTY?
  My perfect imperfection ~~Melissa Bachara
I am a contradiction
a perfect imperfection
On looking in from outside
I think I’d pass inspection
My nails are neat, each hair in place
My clothes the latest styles
But look a little closer,
And you can see my trials
The window to my balanced soul
Is stained from too much smoke
A birds eye view down at my heart
Will clearly show it’s broke
My best intentions lead to pain
And complicated messes
My head is filled with wishes,
My decisions second guesses
There was a time I tried to hide
each wrinkle, scar and tear
But I’m learning to appreciate
That I’m more than I appear
Each wrinkle tells a story
The path from there to here
I’ve earned a little wisdom
With every falling tear
My soul will soar in brilliant skies
But then I’ll need to rest
The embers of my passion
Still smolder in my chest
Perhaps I’ll let my hair go wild
And skip the manicure
I’ll wear my favorite color
They’ll say "Hey, look at her"
My hair, my heart, my clothes, my soul
Will walk in one direction
No longer contradicting
My perfect imperfection
